Liu, Yaya, President and founder
Dr. Yaya Liu, graduated from the chemistry department of University of Illinois at Chicago, has worked in the pharmaceutical drug discovery area for over eighteen years. Dr. Liu was a key contributor in the discovery of AbbVie’s marketed HCV drug Viekira. She has a lot of experience in interrogating disease mechanisms at the cellular and systemic levels in therapeutic areas such as pain, Alzheimer’s disease, oncology and antiviral. She decided to make a career change to found Epic Healthy Living Education Center to allow her to focus on the education of the importance of disease prevention.
Guo, Jianhua, KongFu Master
Master Jianhua Guo is a trained professional Wushu Master from the Wuhan Institute of Physical Education, China. Master Guo has been teaching in the U.S. since 1987. He later opened Championship Martial Arts Academy (CMAA) on August 1991. He has hundreds of students, many of which have won first place in international martial arts competitions.
Ye, Qing, Dance Teacher
Qing Ye came to the U.S. in the early 90’s, he has dedicated his efforts and artistic creativity to promoting Chinese folk dance. He is an acclaimed choreographer, dancer and educator. He inspires his students to carry on his mission of instilling the love of Chinese dance and culture. One such group is “Phoenix Performance Arts Group”.
Ye, Sha, Yoga Master
Sha Ye had received formal yoga teacher training from Yoga Alliance accredited school and is a certified Yoga teacher. She has been teaching Yoga since 2010 at various studios and schools throughout the Chicago land area. Her class is very popular and can help students build core strength, increase flexibility and promote physical alignment and stability. Her style is encouraging and delightful with detailed instructions that enable all students to feel confident and comfortable in her class. Her goal is to help her students find and maintain a healthy body and peaceful mind.
Zhang, Xin， Board of Director, Painting Artist
Born in Shanghai, China, Xin Zhang was an art director in Shanghai Television Station Animation Film Studio. He graduated with an oil painting major from Musashino Art Institute and a Comparison Art major from Wako University in Tokyo, Japan. He participated and received many awards in multiple art exhibitions in China and Japan. Xin Zhang came to the US in 2000 as a gallery contracted artist. He is currently a professional oil painting artist.
Li, Jinhe, Board of Director, Choir Director
Dr. Jinhe Li graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Ph.D. in Biology and has worked in the pharmaceutical drug discovery area for over twenty years. He plays several instruments and has worked as an artistic director and stage supervisor for the “Yellow River Art Society” in Boston and the “Great Wall Choir” in Kalamazoo.
Xu, XiangDong, Photography Club Director
Xiangdong is a natural born leader and is passionate about serving the community. He has taken key leadership positions in organizations including American Chinese Scientists and Engineers and Stevenson Orchestra Parent Association, and has won an outstanding achievement award from ACSE and recognition of leadership award from OPA. Xiangdong is taking the role of leading our photography club by organizing the showcase of artists’ works and inviting famous photographers to discuss different skills and techniques.
